September 4:Relief

11:25pm

I really love the feeling of a Friday, don't we all. It just so happens that for the first time in my five-year career as and undergrad, I have no classes on Friday. That means that Thursday is the official start of the weekend this semester. However, instead of going out for some major partying or drinking, I chose to work six hours at the computer labs. It is relatively relaxing work at night. I scanned a few new pictures in, read some mail, etc. I am not really a total internet junkie, but if you can get paid for doing it...

My first week (okay, only three days) of classes wasn't too bad. A little disappointing really. All of my classes were pretty predictable. I showed up late for all of them, but I would have been just as good if I hadn't gone. The usual talk. The couple classes that actually got into some material turned out to be pretty standard lectures. I have taken some good classes at the University (most of them in the honors program), but I have had a lot of standard classes. The professors are all excited the first day and try to tell us how their classes are different. I don't know...

We get our phone hooked up tomorrow. I bet it will just be ringing off the hook. It is about as good as the mailbox. It is there but nobody seems to know about it. I will have to send out some letters to try to drum up business. One of my fine theories of life is that all people are basically lonely but afraid to admit it. One way to tell is mail. Many people might hate getting that big pile of junk mail, but we all like to get a personally addressed envelop with a letter from a friend inside.

So I have this great three day weekend ahead of me. For some reason it is very cool, so perhaps I will get out for a bike ride or something to enjoy the weather. Or maybe I will just stare at computers all weekend. One thing is for sure, I will not do any of my homework until the last thing, Monday morning. Senioritis.
